Chabot College is a learning-centered community college in Hayward, California, with a culture of thoughtfulness and academic excellence, committed to creating vibrant, lifelong learners. The Music Department is a fully accredited program that offers the best opportunities in instruction and performance in an environment that offers personalized attention and world-class facilities. The faculty is comprised of accomplished performers, academics, composers, and authors, who offer students exceptional instruction, as well as private lessons, to foster their highest potential. Offering an Associate’s Degree in Arts with a concentration in Vocal Music, the vocal program is committed to providing students experience with a wide variety of repertoire, and frequent opportunities for collaboration and performance both on- and off-campus. Students can participate in vocal studies in multiple ways, through private lessons, group voice instruction, and choral ensembles. The choral and vocal program is run by Dr. William Sauerland, a former member of the Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble Chanticleer and a frequent soloist with orchestras throughout the United States.
